21 December 2022: UNECE Secretariat has released the 2022-2 UN/LOCODE directory.

14 December 2022: The Core Component Library (CCL) D22B and XML Schema D22B have been validated by the Validation Focal Point and published on the UN/CEFACT website

9 August 2022: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the “Verifiable credentials for cross border trade” project. Awareness amongst policy makers of how best to leverage verifiable credentials is low.  Furthermore, there are interoperability risks if adoption increases quickly without underlying semantic standards. This project will develop guidance material in the form of a UN/CEFACT white paper. This initiative will pave the way for cross border mutual recognition of high integrity verifiable data. 8 August 2022: UN/CEFACT would like to remind users that the cut-off date for submissions of DMRs for UN/CCL D.22B and UN/EDIFACT D.22B is 9 September 2022.

20 July 2022: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the “Digital Product Conformity Certificate Exchange” project. Product conformity systems and mutual recognition agreements provide global quality assurance and supply chain safety mechanisms. This project focuses on product conformity as part of a broader regulatory compliance framework to define a glide path for business-to-government (B2G) and business-to-business (B2B) transition from paper and pdf-based exchange of product conformity credentials towards a paperless future. 14 July 2022: This is to announce a 60-day public review until 2022/09/14 concerning the Integrated Track and Trace for Multi-Modal Transportation Business Requirements Specifications Document project. Please use the Public Comment Log provided to facilitate the preparation of a Disposition Log by the Project Team.

13 July 2022: The UN/CEFACT secretariat is pleased to announce that the UN/EDIFACT directories version D.22A has been validated by the Validation Focal Point and officially published. It is now available for browsing in the UN/EDIFACT section of the UN/CEFACT website and can be downloaded from the UN/EDIFACT Directories

10 June 2022: This is to announce a 60-day public review until 2022-08-10 concerning the JSON schema naming and design rules: technical specification. Please use the Public Comment Log provided to facilitate the preparation of a Disposition Log by the Project Team.

13 May 2022: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the “Recommendation on Encouraging Private Sector Participation in NTFB” project. The purpose of this project is to transform the findings from the White paper on public sector participation in the NTFB into a policy recommendation that complements UNECE Recommendation 4 on National Trade Facilitation Bodies and Recommendation 40 on Consultation Approaches. 29 April 2022: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Digitisation transit accompanying documents”. The project will provide clear, accessible and concise guidance for options to make accompanying documents digital available during transit and, where deemed possible, for further enhancing integration capabilities of authorities in transit countries for their controls of digitized transit documents as well as, simplifications. The project team will draft a White Paper that will take stock of existing challenges and constraints for movement of goods under transit and will identify how they could be addressed to create a paperless transit environment. 11 March 2022: Joint Press Release - The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the International Federation of Freight-Forwarders Associations (FIATA) announce the official release of the electronic FIATA Multimodal Bill of Lading (eFBL) data standard. The data standard, created on the basis of the mapping of the Negotiable FIATA Multimodal Transport Bill of Lading (FBL) with the UN/CEFACT MMT reference data model, allows the exchange of BL data in a standardised way, facilitating interoperability between all modes of transport and industry stakeholders.
