United Nations Special Envoy for Road Safety



United Nations Secretary-General announced on 29 April 2015 the appointment of Jean Todt as his Special Envoy for Road Safety. Mr. Todt is the former President of Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) - Terms of Reference and Mr. Todt's CV.

Every year, 1.4 million people are  killed from road crashes and millions more are injured. Half of all road traffic deaths are among vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Launch of the book


26 voices for Safe and Sustainable Mobility"

On 22 June 2022, the Special Envoy, Mr Jean Todt, launches a book titled: “THE ROAD AHEAD, 26 voices for Safe and Sustainable Mobility". The book includes a selection of essays from leading specialists, members of government, public figures, and other promoters of road safety and is being launched today at a High-Level Panel, “Safe and Green mobility in low-and middle-income countries” at the European Development Days (EDD) conference in Brussels, which is a forum on international partnerships.
