On 4 July 2023, the Special Envoy met with Mr. Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. This was not the first exchange between the two officials as the first discussion was held during Mr. Türk’s tenure as the UN Under-Secretary-General for Policy in New York in April 2022.
This meeting was held in Geneva and gave the opportunity to discuss road safety as a human rights issue and explore synergies for future collaboration.
