On 6 March 2023, the Special Envoy contributed virtually to the Eighth Global Meeting of NGOs Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims organized by the Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety in El Salvador. With his message, the Special Envoy encouraged all to join hands and to work together towards achieving the goals of the Second Decade of Action. He emphasized that NGOs play a central role to both rethinking how road safety is approached and promoting awareness and implementation of the evidence-based work. The Special Envoy urged for a change in habits, to build infrastructure, to create and administer laws to save lives through applying a holistic approach to traffic safety.
