Today, when SDG 1 sets a goal for the entire world community to eliminate poverty in all its forms, it means that the SDGs recognise the multidimensional nature of poverty, and using only monetary components to assess this phenomenon is no longer sufficient. At the same time, the development of methods to measure multidimensional poverty is a relevant area of statistical activity not only at international but also at national levels. A national multidimensional poverty index does not just complement monetary poverty statistics, but is a powerful tool for monitoring the progress towards the SDGs achieved by a country in key aspects of well-being.
