The Voluntary National Review (VNR) – Voluntary Subnational Review (VSR) – Voluntary Local Review (VLR) Studio: “Unveiling Best Practices for Multilevel Governance in Localizing SDGs” will be organized as a side event to the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (Geneva, 13-14 March 2024). The VNR-VSR-VLR Studio is organized by the UNECE in cooperation with UN DESA, UN-Habitat, Union of Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).

The VNR-VSR-VLR Studio will:

  1. inform you on the latest developments on localizing the SDGs in the UNECE region;
  2. Discuss experiences in the use of the data for evidence-based policymaking by cities;
  3. Draw from concrete examples on cities and national administrations and UN agencies and allow for a more formal and informal debate;
  4. Place a special emphasis on exploring how collaborative structures between city and national governments can be optimized. Participants will delve into innovative models, challenges faced, and best practices to enhance multilevel governance dynamics.
