State of Play and Way Forward

15 September 2023 9:30 - 10:30
H.313, Palais des Nations Geneva Switzerland

Introduction

Following the launch of the UN Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation results in July 2023, the Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation Global Report 2023 offers an in-depth and comparative analysis of the implementation of 60 trade facilitation measures in over 140 countries worldwide. Aside from measures in the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, the report covers the implementation of cutting-edge paperless and cross-border trade facilitation measures and those supporting more inclusive and sustainable trade. The new report provides insights into the impact of trade facilitation measures on trade costs and highlights good practices around the world.

This event will present key findings from the report. It will also discuss the way forward and how countries and development partners could formulate evidence-based strategies and policies and foster the exchange of exemplary and innovative practices, based on the recommendations in the report.
