Panel discussion: Repurposing coal infrastructure and diversifying local economies to enable a just transition in coal regions, at the Global Clean Energy Action Forum

Being an offical side event of the Global Clean Energy Action Forum, this high-level roundtable explored practical lessons learned from regional governments and coal companies on a just transition away from coal. It brought together key government and industry representatives at the heart of the just transition process from both emerging and developed economies, including senior officials and representatives from Europe, India, Indonesia, South Africa and the United States, who highlighted some of the subnational just transition strategies being planned or implemented in their own countries.

The panel moderated by Mr. Joseph Majkut, Director, Energy Security and Climate Change Program at the Center for Strategic & International Studies featured the following speakers (in alphabetical order):
