The main objectives of the meeting organized by the partners were to review the progress achieved in result of project implementation; exchange and discuss the best practices and lessons learned from project implementation; identify and discuss with government officials and other counterparts from three Central Asian countries further actions/steps for successful remediation of Uranium Legacy Sites in Central Asia. The Industrial Accidents Convention’s secretariat has contributed online with a presentation on “UNECE work on strengthening mine tailings safety in Central Asia and beyond.”.
