The small group on Disaster Risk Reduction and Natural Hazards Triggering Technological Accidents (Natech) that has been established under the Bureau of the Industrial Accidents Convention, held its third meeting together with partners to discuss the background and draft agenda for a UNECE/EIB/OECD/Norway/Slovenia featured session at the European Forum on Disaster Risk Reduction (EFDRR 2021), which is planned to take place 24-26 November 2021 in Matosinhos, Portugal and online. The featured session is titled Preventing another Sandoz, Baia Mare or Beirut accident: Perspectives on risk management in the context of the Sendai Framework and it will take place on 24 November from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m CET.

The group also exchanged ideas following a draft outline for a joint UNECE/OECD seminar on Natech risk management under the framework of the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UNECE Industrial Accidents Convention.

The fourth meeting of this group will take place in September 2021 in Geneva and online.
