On 7 March 2023, the Special Envoy participated through a video message in the Seventieth Anniversary of the World Forum for the Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations by the ECE. First, the Special Envoy conveyed his appreciation to the World Forum as since its establishment, it has contributed to improving global vehicle safety, while conducting 188 sessions, producing 165 UN Regulations, 22 GTRs, 4 Rules on Technical Inspection and 10 Resolutions. The Special Envoy also congratulated the World Forum for trying to set minimum safety and environmental performance for vehicles with its new Informal Working Group on “Safer and Cleaner Used and New Vehicles”, and for working on vehicle automation.
