The workshop was held in-person with possible online participation.
The workshop was co-organized by the Sustainable Transport Division, the Sustainable Energy Division and the Housing and Land Management Unit of the Forests, Land and Housing Division. The workshop provided further inputs to document ECE/TRANS/WP.5/2022/2 entitled “Taking stock of new trends towards electric vehicle charging infrastructure”.
The workshop provided a platform for participants to:
- Exchange views on trends, opportunities, and challenges in the field of electrification of road vehicles at urban, suburban, and regional levels.
- Discuss the policy and infrastructure needs that these developments create for transport, energy, and spatial planning, including in an urban environment.
- Propose ideas and identify next steps for needed action in this field.
