Leading the way in Public-Private Partnerships: PPP Days 2012

Geneva
From 21st to 24th February, the United Nations office in Geneva will host over 500 delegates representing more than 80 governments at the premier global event in the public-private partnerships calendar, ‘PPP Days 2012’. This event is being jointly organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the World Bank Institute (WBI) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
This four-day conference will convene PPP practitioners from all regions of the world to share their experiences on innovations in PPP policy, structuring and financing, and will start with two days of presentations, panel discussions and debates. The main theme will be strengthening institutions and frameworks for better PPP delivery. (February 21-22)
There will be a full-day Business Forum on the third day, Thursday 23rd February, which is a new feature of ‘PPP Days 2012’. The Business Forum will bring together the public and private sectors, and give governments from Africa, Asia, South America, and Eastern Europe the opportunity to showcase their PPP policies and project pipelines, and to benefit from invaluable networking and investment promotion opportunities. (February 23)
The final day of the conference will be dedicated to case studies, and give participants the choice between actual or ‘virtual’ site visits. There will be a presentation of selected projects from around the world in the form of training videos produced specifically for 'PPP Days 2012', and a site visit to the first PPP project in Switzerland - the 'Neumatt - Cantonal Administration Center Burgdorf' in Bern. These case studies will be followed by the fourth session of the UNECE Team of Specialists on PPPs. (February 24)
Additionally, a special exhibition or ‘World Café’ will take place, where a number of governments will showcase their PPP capabilities and opportunities to the international PPP community. This will run throughout the conference.
This global event is being organized with the generous support of the International Finance Corporation, the Swiss Government and the Government of the Netherlands.
