Joint Expert Group on Water and Industrial Accidents 

Moderated by the Co-chairs from Hungary and Serbia, and with support of the UNECE secretariat, the Joint Expert Group on Water and Industrial Accidents (JEG) organized a JEG-meeting on 6 October 2022 in Budapest, Hungary and online from 9:30 to 13:00 CET. The meeting was held back-to-back with the seminar on emerging risks in accidental water pollution: focus on natural hazard-triggered accidents, taking place on 5 October 2022 in Budapest, Hungary and online. 

The JEG meeting allowed the JEG members to present on the past and envisaged JEG-related activities. Furthermore, it also provided an opportunity to evaluate the aforementioned seminar, including possible follow-up actions that the JEG could support. In this context, ongoing policy developments were also discussed.
