5th Steering Committee meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Niyazmuhamet Gyrlov, Deputy Minister of Water Economy. Some 30 participants attended from different ministries, as well as UNECE, UNRCCA, UNDP, GIZ and German-Kazakh University participated. Decisions of the meeting included establishing two inter-ministerial working groups for elaborating national IWRM strategy and for studying the Protocol on Water and Health. It was also decided to request assistance from UNECE to organize seminars on the industrial accidents convention with aim of forming official suggestion about potentially becoming a Party.
