TIR SEMINAR

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the TIR Executive Board and the TIR secretariat, in close co-operation with the customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is pleased to invite experts from customs administrations from Contracting Parties and countries interested in joining the TIR Convention to a TIR seminar to be held at the OSCE  Border Management Staff College in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, from 19 to 22 May 2015.
The main objective of the seminar is to analyse the current status of implementation of the TIR Convention, as the only global customs transit regime and a unique international transport and trade facilitation tool, as well as its outlook for the future. 
The event will provide excellent opportunities to exchange experiences in the application of the TIR procedure. Experts from the TIR Executive Board, customs administrations and international organizations will give presentations on best practices and challenges in the application of the TIR procedure. A large part of the seminar will be devoted to an exchange of views and group discussions.
English, Russian and Dari will be the working languages of the seminar. Simultaneous interpretation to/from these languages will be provided. There is no participation fee for this seminar. Assistance with Visa requirements will be provided by the OSCE Border Management Staff College. Furthermore, accommodation has been secured for participants at the Lotus Hotel, Dushanbe, at a preferential rate of 80 USD per night. Transport between the hotel and the Border Management Staff College will be provided.
