On 14 December 2022, the Special Envoy contributed to the first National Road Safety Agencies Meeting organized by the WHO. Throughout his message, the Special Envoy reminded all participating stakeholders that they play a crucial role in moving in the right direction towards the implementation of the Global Plan and achievement of the 2021-2030 targets.
The Special Envoy encouraged the attendees to lead and coordinate a country’s road safety strategy to align with actions reflected in the Global Plan, such as: providing a legislative framework for road safety; urging compliance with international standards; putting high priority on solid road safety data; and pushing for adequate national financing for road safety.
