The VNR-VLR studio “Evidence-based approaches to the development of Voluntary Local Reviews: experiences and best practices” was a side event to the UNECE Urban Resilience Week 2023 (Geneva, 2-6 October 2023). This side event was organized by UNECE in cooperation with UN DESA, UN-Habitat, Union of Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the partners in the project “Voluntary local reviews: evidence for greener, resilient, and sustainable urban recovery in Eastern European and Central Asian countries in transition”, the Global Cities Hub and the University of Geneva. It falls under the umbrella of the Local2030 Coalition. The VNR-VLR Studio (i) informed about the latest developments on the localization of the SDGs and (ii) discussed experiences in using data for evidence-based policymaking, such as the development of city action plans, programmes and projects, as well as for SDG budgeting.
