On 7 April 2021, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Mr. Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, to provide an update on the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety, with an extended target to halve number of deaths by 2030. The Special Envoy also took the opportunity to appreciate the commitment of the UNHCR to reach the UN internal Vision Zero goal, through the implementation of the UN internal road safety strategy.
In conclusion, the Special Envoy also conveyed his gratitude for the UNHCR’s participation in the Fourth UN Partnership Meeting for Road Safety hosted by the Special Envoy on 4 November 2020.
