On 22 March 2021, the Special Envoy virtually met with H.E. Mr. Nebenzia Vassily Alekseevich, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office in New York. The Special Envoy showed appreciation for the Russian Federation’s leadership for global road safety demonstrated by the sponsorship of the UN General Assembly Resolutions on Improving Global Road Safety, as well as commitment to the UNRSF.
The Special Envoy also informed that, along with Ms. Olga Algayerova, Executive Secretary of the UNECE, they are in support of a High-Level Meeting on Road Safety, as stated in the latest Resolution (A/RES/74/299).
