Seventh UN Partnership Meeting for Road Safety

On 13 December 2023, the Seventh UN Partnership Meeting for Road Safety was hosted by the Special Envoy at Palais des Nations in Geneva. The event was held in hybrid format and attended by high-level representatives from 29 UN organizations and departments.

The main topics covered during the meeting were the results of the 2023 Global Status Report on Road Safety and the planning for the Fourth Ministerial Conference on Road Safety; maximizing linkages with the broader SDGs agenda; regional trends and recommendations; the internal road safety strategy; financing for road safety and the Agencies’ global initiatives and strategic perspectives.

High-level engagement included video messages by the UN Deputy Secretary-General and the President of the UN General Assembly, as well as the contribution of nearly all the Executive Secretaries of the UN Regional Commissions, the UN Under-Secretary-General of the Department of Safety and Security and the Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs.
