On 23 January 2023, the Special Envoy met with Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The Special Envoy introduced road safety as a global development and labour issue. Moreover, he shared about the efforts in Southeast Asia, particularly in Cambodia, and asked for support on the Declaration of Action “Improving the commute for Cambodian garment and footwear workers”, prepared in partnership with the ILO’s Better Factories Cambodia programme and the Transportation Working Group.
