Geneva UN Charter Centres of Excellence (in short: Centres of Excellence) support the Committee in the implementation of the Geneva UN Charter on Sustainable Housing. They actively disseminate information on the Charter and its principles not only through publications, media, national and local events, but also through organizing capacity building and networking activities. Depending on their specialization and available expertise, the Centres of Excellence work at national and/or international level on topics covered by the Charter. They collect best practices, research, support, and/or offer training in the field of housing, sustainable smart cities, urban development, and land management.
Activities of the Centres of Excellence are coordinated by the secretariat. The Centres of Excellence are subject to periodic reporting to document their achievements against agreed action plans. They report to the Committee at its annual sessions. In between sessions, they are accountable to the Committee Bureau.
