On 4 July 2023, the Special Envoy met with Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Passenger Vehicles Business, Tata Motors Ltd. The Special Envoy thanked the Managing Director for being part of the Friends of the Special Envoy for Road Safety Network as Advisor to Mr. Ratan Tata, former Chairman of Tata Sons and Tata Group. The Special Envoy also spoke about his upcoming trips to Mumbai, India from 14 to 17 October 2023 and Delhi, India on 18-19 October 2023 and inquired of possible joint events on such occasions. Lastly, the Special Envoy reminded of the importance of the car manufacturer industry in addressing road safety; encouraged to engage with the UNRSF; and asked for recommendations for Bollywood stars who could join the UN – JCDecaux global road safety campaign.
