Malaysia: A middle-income country with a population of 32.776 million. According to the WHO, Malaysia ranks second on the list with the highest number of road traffic deaths among other countries in the ASEAN region. Malaysia has acceded to 2 out of 7 UN road safety legal instruments.
The Special Envoy participated in the launch of the Motorist Super App and signing ceremony of the MIROS Memorandum of Understanding.
On the margins of the above, the Special Envoy also contributed to the engagement session on road traffic safety management system.
During the mission, the Special Envoy met with the following officials towards advocating for safer roads in the country:

• Ms. Karima El Korri, UN Resident Coordinator and UNCT Malaysia;
• Ms. Virginie Bioteau, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of France.
