The scope of UNECE activities in the field of Methane Management is very broad and corresponds with the multidimensional characteristic of the undertaken task.
As the programme is currently in the first phase (please see Programme), the following steps have been taken towards the achievement of the objectives set for this stage:
- A Task Force on Methane Management in Extractive Industries has been created and convened for its first meeting;
- Cooperation with prominent organizations and industry experts operating in the relevant fields has been established;
- A survey has been developed and disseminated among members of the stakeholder community across all extractive energy sectors.
