Mission

The International Centres of Excellence on Sustainable Resource Management (ICE-SRM) aim to support the global deployment of the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC) and the United Nations Resource Management System (UNRMS). Our mission aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement, promoting sustainable practices across all sectors.

Core Objectives

  • Capacity-Building: Offering non-commercial training, research, and consultation to foster sustainable resource management aliged with UNFC and UNRMS.
  • Development and Maintenance: Contributing to the continuous development of UNFC and UNRMS through testing, case studies, and innovative applications.
  • Advocacy: Promoting the benefits of sustainable resource management through educational initiatives, public events, and industry recognition.
  • Outreach: Engaging with global stakeholders through workshops, online resources, and partnerships to spread best practices and support UNFC and UNRMS adoption.

Capacity-Building

Development and Maintenance

  • Regular collaboration with the Expert Group on Resource Management on UNFC and UNRMS development.

  • Disseminating knowledge through case studies, research, and demonstrations of UNFC and UNRMS.
  • Identifying solutions for regional and national barriers to resource management.

  • Hosting outreach workshops and maintaining a dedicated website.
  • Creating online tools and resources to disseminate information.
