Circular Economy

Introduction

The 69^th Commission session had a high-level theme of “circular economy and sustainable use of natural resources”. Working Party 6 (WP.6) has integrated this topic into its programme of work. Product standards, such as those under the remit of WP.6, can integrate aspects of circular economy into the conception of the products, thus ensuring that the end-of-life cycle or subsequent usages are planned for. Internationally recognized standards for green products can also help to make sure that national requirements do not become a barrier to trade.
