Published:
Road Map on Statistics for Sustainable Development Goals

The second edition of the Road Map on Statistics for SDGs aims to provide guidance to members of national statistical systems and other stakeholders on how to best navigate the complex task of measuring the achievement of the goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda. By doing so, it strives to strengthen reliable data-based national information systems and support efforts to achieve the Goals.

The Road Map covers different aspects related to the work, such as national coordination, reporting on global SDG indicators, tracking progress at various levels, quality assurance, leave no one behind, communication, Voluntary National Reviews and capacity development. Frequently Asked Questions and a glossary aim to explain in an easily understandable way the issues and terms used.

The Road Map can be used in communications with other stakeholders involved in implementing the SDGs, like policy makers, academia, civil society, private sector and media, to explain the issues related to statistics for SDGs, and the critical role of official statistics.

The Road Map was developed by the CES Steering Group on Statistics for SDGs and endorsed by the Conference of European Statisticians in June 2021.
