ONLINE Workshop. Grodno: Towards a Sustainable, Smart and Resilient City

The meeting was organized online in Zoom.

This validation workshop in Grodno was organized by UNECE with participation of UN-Habitat and the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus. It presented the intermediate outcomes of cooperation between UNECE and the city on the following two projects 

  1. Smart Sustainable Cities for the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda in the UNECE Region;

  2. Strengthening capacities of selected CIS countries to implement urban related SDGs through Country Profiles on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management and innovative financing mechanisms

Objectives of the workshop: 

  1. To present the outcomes of Grodno’s evaluation as sustainable and smart, including a chapter about socio-economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, and to share the key recommendations which will be reflected in the Grodno City Profile.

  2. To introduce several directions of work of the UNDP office in the Republic of Belarus to support the financing of smart districts in Grodno.
