On 17 February 2021, the Special Envoy met with Ms. Michelle Gyles-McDonnough, Director of Sustainable Development Unit at the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General to provide an update on the global road safety agenda, including the UN General Assembly Resolution on Improving Global Road Safety (A/RES/74/299) adopted in 2020 and the plan for the second Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030).
The Special Envoy also shared about the latest efforts by the UNRSF, counting 15 projects in 19 countries and donor contributions from 16 donors, including Member States and private sector, as well as relevant fundraising plan for 2021.
