Third meeting of the Task Force on the Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystem Nexus

The Task Force on the Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystems Nexus was charged with the overview and guidance of the assessment of the nexus in selected transboundary basins, which was carried out as part of the Convention’s programme of work 2013–2015 that was adopted by the Parties.

This third meeting of the Task Force brought together representatives of the countries that are concerned by the ongoing and possible future basin assessments, as well as representatives of organizations undertaking parallel initiatives, partners, experts and stakeholders.

The meeting had the following objectives:

  • To provide an overview of the status of preparations of assessments;
  • To discuss the findings and the experience from the basin assessments;
  • To review the draft contents of the overall stocktaking report of the nexus assessment;
  • To agree on the steps to complete the presentation of findings for publication;
  • To discuss possible follow-up activities for the Convention’s programme of work 2016–2018.
