It is with deep sadness that the UNECE and TIR secretariats have learned of the untimely death of Mr. Louis Kuhnen, the distinguished delegate of the European Commission. For various years, Mr. Kuhnen participated in the sessions of the Working Party on Customs Questions affecting Transport (WP.30) and the TIR Administrative Committee (AC.2), contributing considerably to their success. The secretariats express their sincere sympathies to his family and friends and to his colleagues from the European Commission for this great loss. His professional expertise, his personal warmth as well as his sense of humour will be highly missed. May he rest in peace.
